5-30-11 In January 2011 we visited Arlington for the first time. It was an awe inspiring visit. Thank you to all those who have served to protect our freedoms. Have a blessed Memorial Day.

7-16-11 New to the neighborhood? We have many houses for sale. My sister and I went the the farmers market in downtown Omaha this morning. I was very attracted to variety of birdhouses this vendor had. I decided to play a little with the image. I've applied HDR ish from picnic. Hope the weekend is going well for everyone.

7-18-11 Hope everyone's week started well today. I was happy to provide some laughs with yesterday's post. Thanks for the comments. This morning I was talking with a friend in her driveway and this little fella hopped across in front of us. When I approached to take his picture he crouched down and tucked his ears down. My guess is it was a protective thing like a possum playing dead.

3-28-11 Comet is exhausted after a weekend with his doggie cousins. Time for a nap, an all day nap.

8-1-11 "Yea, the rain has stopped" My daughter, Danielle, cheering that the rain stopped right before the movie at the drive-ins. We had a wonderful time. I have fond memories of going to the drive-in as a kid and it was great to share that with my kids.

7-10-11 When I posted the tiger a few days ago, I mentioned that it was nap time at the zoo. Here is further evidence from the gibbon's island.

7-17-11 I thought I'd end the weekend with a fun photo. This is my son Ryan having an eye popping experience with his darts. Somehow I don't think this is what Nerf intended for thier darts to used as. It definately gave all the family quite a chuckle

6/9/11 Another photo from a day in the old market in Omaha. This one is in the passageway. The fitered light and colors are what drew me to take this photo.

7-29-11 Morning light in the thistle garden. We're headed to the drive-in movies with the kids tonight. It will be thier first time. Looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

5-23-11 What a beautiful day we had yesterday. Our church had a family picnic at a park by the river. This patch of phlox was right next to where we parked. It was so peaceful I could have stayed a long time. Happy Monday everyone.

5-21-11 I've been kept busy the last several days with a garage sale. It's nice to get back to posting. This Clematis is in my front yard it only started to bloom yesterday. Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Thanks for the kind comments on my wall mural shot.

7-14-11 Lunchtime for the bees. Another capture of a Metallic Green Bee. Until last week I had never noticed this kind of bee and now I'm seeing them everywhere. It is a very humid day. My 30 minutes of picture taking had me sweating buckets.

5-24-11 "Kaleidoscope Iris" I thought the inside of the iris looked neat. When I looked at it on the computer it reminded me of looking through a kaleidoscope. I have another that I'll post at a later date, but this was my daughter's favorite. Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my phlox photo yesterday.

7-7-11 Nap time for the animals at the zoo today. This tiger was no exception. We had a wonderful morning strolling along looking at the animals.

9-13-11 There is a feel of fall in the air. The tempertures are cooler and there is a crisp, dryness. I love it, my favorite season.

7-19-11 A cheetah from the zoo. I think this may be one of the cubs that was born last year. It was pretty hot so they were all laying around relaxing.

6-14-11 This shot of the sun was taken well before sunset last night at my son's ball game. It had been windy all day so the sun had a pinkish look to it because of all the dust in the air. I adjusted both the exposure and the contrast ever so slightly in piknik. Otherwise it is just as I took it.

5-22-11 We had a rather large thunderstorm last night. This was the best shot at our attempt to capture some lightning.

6-8-11 I was inspired to post a door picture today after seeing everyone's doors and windows in yesterday's posts. I had taken this one several weeks ago at the Old Market in Omaha, NE. I decided to try and give it an "older feel", hopefully I was somewhat successful. Thanks for the great posts yesterday on my artistic endevor.

7-8-11 Another photo from our trip to the zoo yesterday. Henry Doorly has a fantastic aquarium. My favorite part is the jelly fish exhibit. The tank is probably about 15 feet high and 5-6 feet in diameter. It is filled with floating jelly fish illuminated by black lights. Happy Friday everyone. Hope all of you have a great weekend
